By Mandilee Hecht

A pedestrian suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday, Oct. 24 in Saginaw Township.

According to Saginaw Township Police Chief Donald Pussehl, at 6:16 a.m. on Wednesday, the pedestrian was crossing State Street at Weineke Road; he had the “walk” signal, Chief Pussehl said.

A vehicle, driven by a 32-year-old male, was turning right onto State Street from Weineke Road. The driver, from Saginaw Township, did not see the 44-year-old pedestrian, also a Saginaw Township resident, and struck him, causing minor injuries, police said.

“The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation for failure to yield,” Pussehl said.
